Tulips And Waterfalls

I went out one day to the parkland on and around Green Island, where the Rideau River spills over the Rideau Falls into the Ottawa River. This park has a number of monuments, most of them military, and the pavilion here houses headquarters for the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. It also has some tulip beds here, on the eastern shore of the east branch of the river. We are in the New Edinburgh neighbourhood on this side.

Looking east from the tulips includes a view in the background of the French embassy.

This view towards one of the main platforms gives us a glimpse of the Ottawa River and the Macdonald-Cartier bridge in the distance.

Here is the east branch of the Rideau Falls.

This view is from the walkway over the falls. Gatineau is on the far shore, with the forested area on the shore being the Leamy Lake Park; the Gatineau Hills are off in the distance.

This view of the falls is from the Green Island side of things. More from this park tomorrow.

  10. The 🌷's are glorious en masse like this William, gorgeous views. The waterfalls are flowing strong, would that be as a result of winter rain/snow melting? Looks amazing 💜
