The tulip beds on Parliament Hill extend over onto the east lawn as well, with the bushes as a good backdrop. Lilacs are among those bushes, as they blossom around the same time as the tulips each year. This brings to a close my tulip festival photos for the year. Have you had an overdose of these things?
I do like the lilacs!ReplyDelete
I would like to see some real tulips around here... These are gorgeous!ReplyDelete
The good thing also get tired.ReplyDelete
This was a great series, William, so many fantastic tulips with beautiful colours !ReplyDelete
I tried to count the number of tulips that you showed us, but I lost the count :)
The last shots with the Parliament buildings in the background was my favorite today.ReplyDelete
Definitely no overdose. They are beautiful and I love seeing them.ReplyDelete
Very pretty !ReplyDelete
Never. They were beautiful.ReplyDelete
I like the composition of the first photo. It is amazing how they all bloom at the same time. Like clockwork!ReplyDelete
the red and white are very striking!ReplyDelete
We don't have many (if any) lilacs blooming in Texas, but I used to love them in Illinois. The aroma is so lovely.ReplyDelete
Lilacs and tulips, two of my favorite flowers in one spot!ReplyDelete
The perfume of the lilac combined with the beauty of the tulips, perfect!ReplyDelete
You could do a book of these....ReplyDelete
@Halcyon: so do I!ReplyDelete
@VP: thank you!
@Tomas: it's been nearly a month!

@Country Gal: thank you!ReplyDelete
@Deb: I quite agree.
@Janis: the planters have to get the job done quickly in the fall, all within a few days.
@Tex: and very fitting for the Hill.
@Linda: we have a lot of them here, on public and private properties, and the smell is quite inviting.
@Sharon: and they turn up at just about the same time here.
@Grace: thank you!
@Norma: I'm musing on that idea!
You really should!Delete
Something to look forward to each spring.ReplyDelete
I love the lilacs!ReplyDelete
Never can overdose on Tulips---bring 'em on!ReplyDelete
Tulips certainly do well in Ottawa!ReplyDelete
I also like the Lilacs. I watched the girls soccer the other day In Ottawa. I am behind commenting.ReplyDelete
Canada won. A total of 10 goals.
Well, I guess I'm a bit 'tulipped out' at this point. How about a week of irises now. Have I coined a new word? Tulipped?ReplyDelete
@RedPat: it's very much something I look forward to each year.ReplyDelete
@Linda: so do I!
@MB: it's been fun showing them off.
@EG: they do!
@Carolann: thank you!
@BIrdman: I've got a few days of odds and ends and spring blossoms, and then I'm diving into Doors Open.
I'm beginning to wonder if tulip time shouldn't be the only time of the year to visit Ottawa as a tourist! Marvellous William!ReplyDelete
Really lovely photos indeed!ReplyDelete
You could do another month of tulips as far as I'm concerned! I suspect they might start looking a little bedraggled soon, though!ReplyDelete
No overdose. You've shown us a very beautiful area that all of us should visit.ReplyDelete
looking forward to seeing other things. Got my fix for this year.ReplyDelete
I would like to have a tulip festival here.ReplyDelete
I must admit that I have never seen so many tulips or so many varieties of tulips in my life. I didn't even know such things existed! Amazing and beautiful photos.ReplyDelete
I think the end & yellow were my favourite...ReplyDelete
No overdose. Almost sad to see them end.ReplyDelete
@Ciel: there's a lot to do here through the year, including music festivals through the summer.ReplyDelete

@Cheryl: there's none of them left now!
@Gill: something entirely different tomorrow.
@Marleen: they're wonderful to have.
@Lowell: thank you!
@Hamilton: I'm always sorry to see their end too.
You could have made the one photo of just the lilacs. My favorite next to peonies.ReplyDelete
Catching up on all of your tulip pictures that I missed last week and they are gorgeous!ReplyDelete
I just wish they had a longer blooming season?ReplyDelete
Awwww. Over already? I guess I'll have to wait 'til next year!ReplyDelete
