Twilight Descends On The Rideau Canal

In late July, I stopped on the Bank Street Bridge for a sunset view over the Rideau Canal.

Turning back around gave me a view of the rising moon and the Sunnyside branch of the Ottawa Public Library, which has the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons as its neighbour.

Tomorrow I have a different twilight from here to show you by contrast. Before then, however, I wanted you to see this treatment of my profile pic, done by Collin Beishir and initially placed at The International Intruder page Norma and I maintain over at Facebook. I'm planning on adding some memes to this for my election day post in October.

I actually do look like Bane!

  6. I do like that canal in every kind of light! The whole area is beautiful. But who's that guy with the mask? Yikes!

  7. @Cloudia: I've been adapting Bane quotes!

    @Linda: it's quite a contrast to tomorrow's post from the bridge though.

    @Weekend: it's a great place to take in the sunset.

    @VP: thank you!

    @Marianne: the bridge is one of my favourite places in the city.

    @Revrunner: I did too!

    @Tomas: definitely!

    @Birdman: hah!

    @Lowell: he's rather nefarious, I think.

  10. William, you're the only guy I know who'd be happy to discover he looks like Bane!

    Tony Stark, yes. Thor, yes. Star-Lord, yes. But...Bane?

  11. Haha! Oh that's too good. Man I get so jealous whenever you post pics of that canal. I would love to photograph that.

  17. @Jennifer: I wonder what my mother would have made of that face.

    @RedPat: thanks!

    @Nancy: I'm startled by how much I do look like the character.

    @Norma: "you think this gives you power over me?"

    @Whisk: thank you!

    @Krisztina: it's one of my favourite photo subjects, particularly from this location.

    @EG: thank you!

    @Jackie: thanks!

    @Red: that's what it was meant for!

    @Ciel: yes, I'm odd that way.

    @Tex: quite a switch!

    @Denise: Bane when played right is a hell of a character. Obviously he was played completely wrong when Joel Schumacher put him into Batman & Robin, but that movie had pretty much everything wrong about it.

    @Geoff: scary indeed!

  22. Pretty twinkle of lights round the canal. And your last photo looks as if you are preparing a mask for some Greek tragedy of alien proportions.
