I was walking on the Bronson Avenue bridge over the Rideau Canal one morning last month. There was a fine snow falling, and it filtered the light of the rising sun in an interesting way.
A few days later passing through Brewer Park, another sunrise caught my eye. I photographed it in several different settings: normal, black and white, sepia, aqua, and negative.
We have now the same amount of snow here.
ReplyDeleteWintry landscape is not much difference between the black and white picture .. :) Lovely photos but I like most the original.
When I open the computer by the morning, always I see you have already written your Ottawa daily photo.
ReplyDeleteYou live in a wonderful and beautiful city.
Happy weekend.
Tomás.
You are an early bird, I only see sunsets :)
ReplyDeleteSuper colours in the first sunrise William, as far as sunrise and sunsets go mother nature's colours win :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Amazing different settings change the impression of the image so dramatically. When I visited Anthelope Canyon, tour guide recommended to use Chrome setting. It sure brought up the beautiful colors the canyon had :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, my friend, I like all of these variations. But what the hell are you doing up at the break of dawn day after day? I always thought cold, snowy days are for sleeping in! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a variety of views!
ReplyDeleteI like the aqua, but have to admit that the last one is interesting!
ReplyDeleteYour last four photos are very cool. Changes bring about some interesting aspects of the photo. Some things can look very different.
ReplyDelete@Orvokki: I figured a little experimenting with the camera seemed in order!
ReplyDelete@Tomas: well, I do set these posts to go at midnight my time, so they'd be up and running when anyone in Europe is getting up in the morning.
@Marianne: the only time I see sunrises is in winter when it's up later.
@Grace: no sunrise or sunset is ever the same.
@Tamago: thank you!
@Lowell: only at this time of year! When it's summer and the sun is rising before six, I'll never be awake!
@Sharon: thanks!
@Norma: I thought so!
I am all for the normal way...
ReplyDeleteEm todas as nuances ficou espetacular porque a imagem é perfeita
ReplyDeleteUm bom final de semana
Um abraço
Nice photos ! I love walking in a sun rise and sun set . Thanks for sharing , have a good weekend !
ReplyDeleteInteresting, William, I haven't seen a sunrise since a long time... :)
ReplyDeleteI don't see the sun rise very often!
ReplyDeleteI don't catch many sunrises either. These are very creative.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to experiment though I'll probably never really get to do that with a sunrise - unless I'm travelling!
ReplyDelete@Red: especially in negative.
ReplyDelete@VP: I figured some would just go for that.
@Gracita: thank you.
@Country Gal: thanks!
@Karl: well, as winter goes on and the days get longer, I'll see very few of them until late fall!
@RedPat: most of the year I don't.
@Jackie: thank you!
@Ciel: sunrises are so easy to miss if one's not out yet!
For me the B&W. Is the best.
ReplyDeletei like the lovely and soft natural. :)
ReplyDeleteMost attractive interpretations of morning light. i must admit, I love the subtle colours in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really good idea William, the only thing is I'm spoiled for choice...ah decisions, decisions...
ReplyDeleteThe peach one and the gold one are terrific.
ReplyDelete@Inna: it is the first time I have experimented with the settings, but I have done so again today with a sunset.
ReplyDelete@Tex: thank you!
@Gemma: I was glad to have a camera along on both occasions.
@Geoff: I can find choosing hard.
@Mari: thank you!
I like the black and white and the negative versions. The negative reminded me that it's been a very long time since I've seen one of those. And it sounds like - voluntary or no - that you're an early riser.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful effects indeed!
ReplyDeleteYou've been playing in a nice way with the photos, but the first one is still the most beautiful, I think.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is beautiful. I like the different effects and how they look on the other images. It's good to be different, never know what you'll find or like.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy all your photos yes you are a early bird.
ReplyDeleteI like the style in your last photo here.
ReplyDelete@Kay: it's more a case of the sun rising late enough in winter that I'm up to photograph.
ReplyDelete@Pietro and Cynthia: thank you.
@Jan: thanks!
@Bill: so do I.
@Carolann: not that early!
@Gunn: thank you.
