Activities In The Park

While we are in the midst of a gradual thaw, there's still plenty of snow around, but as you can see above, I've switched out the banner image for something more spring like.

These images are from the last weekend of Winterlude. It is typical of businesses to come into Confederation Park, often with giveaways. In this case, employees for Redpath, a Canadian sugar company, came with cookies, as well as this vintage truck that they take to events like this. The truck was a milk delivery van back in the late 1940s, and has been extensively restored.

The stilt walkers I've shown you previously were back.

And a number of local sculptors had another go at carving ice.

  2. Interesting to see the activity's round the park. The truck is great though they did not go as far as using the original wheels I see

  6. Love the photos with people in them. The truck reminds me of something that Jasper and Horace might drive in Disney's 101 Dalmatians!

  12. Very colorful header. When ice carving first started, all they used was a hatchet. Now look at all the hand and power tools.
