Hog's Back Falls offers good views on both sides. The water is low at the moment, but looks different in other seasons.
Crossing over the bridge gives different views of the ravine.
Here on the east side, I noticed a couple of ducks perched along one of the waterways.
That ravine is very pretty. I'd expect the geology here is quite interesting. Those falls are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe falls are lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful waterfall views. Looking at the photos, I feel like I can hear the sound of the waterfalls. Very refreshing! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose falls photos are outstanding. They probably sound incredible when you pass them.
ReplyDeleteEarly morning or late afternoon William? The light is lovely in these shots.. nice walk you had there!
ReplyDeleteFalls are always so soothing to watch, aren't they? It's looking rather autumnish in your world. Yes, here too.. I'm just in denial. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe falls are beautiful! (I really love the fifth photo, too.)
ReplyDeleteGreat views of the falls. I wonder how many people take the time to look at the falls from different angles?
ReplyDeleteAhhh, those waterfalls. What a great, Zen way to start the day. How close to downtown are they?

ReplyDelete@Kay: it's a ravine with character.
ReplyDelete@Linda: yes they are.
@Nancy: thanks!
@Bill: they make a lot of noise.
@Grace: late afternoon. I've never come here in morning.
@Hilary: and yet most of the fall colours haven't shown themselves yet. I think the late afternoon light has that effect.
@Norma: thanks!
@Red: I know I always do.
@Janis: they're a few kilometres away. Going by river adds to that, since the river winds its way through the city.
@Whisk: I agree!
@Tex: that it is.
@Denise: thanks!
@Linda: thank you.
@Marleen: indeed!
The ducks could go for a nice ride in that fast water! ;-)

ReplyDeleteEveryone loves waterfalls. We always took our guests to see the Snoqualmie River Falls. It was never the same. One of the few things I loved about Washington.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I love the magic of waterfalls.
ReplyDeleteI love waterfalls. And the light in your last shots is perfect.
ReplyDelete@RedPat: they seem quite comfortable in the water. Of course, they can just fly away if they slip!
ReplyDelete@Beth: thanks!
@Gemma: as do I.
@Cloudia: thanks!
@Mari: I can never get tired of waterfalls.
@Debs: thanks! Me too.
@Halcyon: thank you!
It is terribly low water. I'm still being frugal with our well water.
ReplyDeleteBTW Lanark County rock is awfully boring grey limestone.
It's been a very dry summer.
