I was passing through the Byward Market one day and happened to notice these two vehicles parked side by side. They're three wheeled hybrids called Slingshots, with a belt drive, a mix between car and motorbike. I've never seen anything like them before, though they are made by a company that specializes in ATVs and snowmobiles. They were drawing attention from others too.
Polaris! Thanks for showing them William
ReplyDeleteHey, if you can affort a $20,000 toy, why not? I wonder if it comes with life insurance with the spouse as beneficiary.
ReplyDeleteCool! These will surely draw attention wherever they go!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the bat mobile. Don't know why I still have that memory :)
ReplyDeleteI posted two photos of these things a few weeks ago...didn't know what they were at the time, either. Not much more than a 3-wheeled motorcycle. I'm with Mr. Burke...they do have that Batmobile loook!
ReplyDeleteThey look like coming from outer space. have never seen them before either.
ReplyDeletea very cool vehicle!
ReplyDeleteGoodness I can see how they would attract attention William. The black one also reminded me of the Batmobile 😃😃
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great adventure for two. I'd love to ride around in one. I've seen them at the beach in North Carolina.

They are very stylized and would certainly catch my attention. Other than that they seem to be low tech. It would be a new sensation for a ride.
ReplyDelete@Cloudia: you're welcome.
ReplyDelete@Stuart: indeed!
@Nancy: they caught mine.
@Bill: I can see that.
@Lowell: they do.
@Marianne: they were quite new to me, though I am familiar with the company that makes them.
@Hilary: yes.
@Grace: me too.
@Janis: they definitely seem suited for off road time.
pretty funky! i don't think i'd like to be in an accident in one of them, though.
ReplyDeleteIs that the Bat-cycle?
ReplyDeleteYup, I'm immediately thinking Bat-mobile. Never, ever seen anything like that before.
ReplyDeleteI've seen one or two of these around town here. They look expensive!
ReplyDeleteVery cool.
ReplyDeleteNot something I have ever seen before. They look they can go fast!
ReplyDelete@Red: they'd be a different kind of ride.
ReplyDelete@Tex: I thought that too.
@Norma: it does seem like a hybrid between car and bike, and others are also thinking Bat related.
@Lauren: it was new to me.
@Sharon: they must be.
@Linda: I agree.
Not the most attractive vehicles I have seen.
ReplyDeleteThese vehicles look as if they would fit very nicely into a Batman movie. Fascinating styles.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking you could go fast in those.
ReplyDeleteWow! Those are sure neat little vehicles!
ReplyDeleteSomeone who lives here in the same apt building as we do has something similar parked in the lot. Thanks for all the info, William. Since there's no top, these are not good to drive on rainy days😕
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you didn't stumble onto the set of a Transformers movie? They're very interesting but those seats don't look very inviting.
ReplyDeleteCool! I've seen three wheelers but these have batmobile styling!
ReplyDeleteThey don't look a car at all. I never either seen them before.
ReplyDeleteWow, what good toys !
ReplyDeleteVery cool!
ReplyDeleteHubby drove a motorcycle. His first wife (I'm #3!) raced them!
(ツ) from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!
@Marleen: I imagine they can be fast.
ReplyDelete@RedPat: they are different.
@Gemma: they have that influence.
@Janey: possibly.
@Furry Gnome: they caught my eye for sure.
@Beatrice: definitely not.
@Kay: they would be low to get into.
@Linda: they do.
@Orvokki: they were peculiar.
@Karl: indeed.
@Jennifer: I wouldn't mind taking one for a spin.
we see these all the time. i don't get to see them up close but driving we do. nice!! ( ;
ReplyDeleteIt was a treat to see these two.
DeleteMy great niece and her husband have a red one like the one in the fifth picture down. I've only seen one driving around here in my small city. They really aren't practical.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't think so.
