Classic Automobiles

One weekend back in late August I happened across some classic and sports cars in the Byward Market. I have more of these in the next couple of days. To my fellow Canadians, Happy Thanksgiving! And to my American readers, have a good Columbus Day.

  11. Funny how I grew up with these cars and didn't consider them classics at all. I owned a 37 Chevy, a 50 Plymouth, a 57 Ford, a 56 Chevy, a 56 Ford convertible ... well you get the picture.

  16. Snap! We have a similar theme today. How nice to have Thanksgiving in October. Further away from Christmas than the November date for USA.

  21. Very cool. I love the older cars--late 30s and early 40s. My favorite older car is a '40 Ford coupe. Or maybe a 34-35 ford 5 window coupe--or maybe.....................

  24. (Slightly late) Happy Thanksgiving!
    These are some amazing looking cars. Even the one new car I've had was never as shiny as these, not to mention as immaculate, either.

  25. the hubby recognized the first one as a sunbeam tiger ... nice!

  26. @Bill: thanks!

    @RedPat: me too.

    @MB: a lot of those early cars have class.

    @Catalyst: that's a better way to look at Columbus Day.

    @Cloudia: Beth's hubby seems to think it's a Tiger. As I'm lousy at identifying most cars, I'll go with that.

    @Kay: cars we buy today won't be around in sixty years. They're not built to last anymore.

    @Beth: thanks for the ID!
