Sunrises In The National Capital

I have some dawn shots today. First, taken from the Bronson Avenue Bridge over the Canal, and then in the Glebe a few minutes later, these three shots were from the same morning.

A few days later, I took two more shots over the Canal here again.

This would have been after the switch over to Daylight Saving Time.

And the skies on this final shot were completely different.

  1. Beautiful, I love the colours, light and feel in these photos, William. And it looks like a funnel cloud in your second photo!

  18. You live in a completely different world. I played golf today and it was hot here. At noon it was 86 degrees heading toward 93 degrees. Unusual, but still. So, I enjoy seeing your photos of what life is like in the northlands! :)

  20. Pretty scenery and beautiful skies. I also love your header shot with the tulips. Can't wait to see ours. Daffodils are blooming and it seems to be getting warmer.

  21. @SC: we had a good deal of snow over the winter.

    @Bill: thanks!

    @RedPat: it can depend on the day. Some days I start with a walk.

    @Lowell: here we had temps just above freezing today.

    @Gemma: dawn will do that.

    @Denise: it'll be a month before this years' tulips are up.

  23. The skies may be very nice in these shots but all I can think of is how darned cold it must be at that hour. (No, I don't share your enduring love of winter. Mine has a meter and it's impatiently waiting for spring now.)

  24. @Norma: thanks!

    @Lois: thank you.

    @Mari: thanks!

    @Kay: spring has been very slow this year!

    @Whisk: whenever it shows- I still expect more snow before we're through.
