I have the second of two posts scheduled over at my writing blog today, showing flood conditions, this time along the Ottawa River. Click the icon over at the upper right and check it out.
I took these in Confederation Park late last Sunday afternoon. The large fountain here had not yet been turned on, but the recent rains had given it a good deal of water. This duck was splashing around in the water when I approached, hopped onto this box (which I think shelters an underwater light), and then onto the edge of the fountain. She made for a good photo subject as she preened her feathers.
Glorious captures, William! I absolutely love this beautiful series!
ReplyDeleteEven if not swimming, ducks certainly enjoy being close to water. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteDuck has a good place to stand in the first photos.
ReplyDeleteDucks are funny creatures to watch. Nice photos, William.

ReplyDeleteI always love seeing that flash of emerald green colour when they open their wings, it's an unexpected surprise ☺
ReplyDeleteAnd now we are beautiful and can stroll along the banks. Loved it. I used to watch the ducks in the North Fork of the Snoqualmie River that flowed by our house.
ReplyDeleteLove.
ReplyDeleteThe duck is making friends with pigeon. I like this shot. Benches in the background look very pretty.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots go your model!
