The Tulip Festival wrapped up yesterday, but I have plenty more shots to come, going into June.
Here is more from Major's Hill Park today, starting with a close up of tulips in the flowerbed I finished off with in yesterday's post.
The other flowerbed here at the end of the park has Notre Dame and the National Gallery as backdrops, depending on the angle you photograph from.
Beautiful! Or tulips already way past their prime! You are still able to enjoy all those marvelous colors.
ReplyDeleteThere is not a picture more beautiful than another, they are all wonderful.
ReplyDeleteTomás.

ReplyDeletei think the 2 view is my fave ... so pretty. springy and happy!! ( ;
ReplyDelete@Kate: some of the beds have yet to bloom as of yesterday, and the festival is now officially over.
ReplyDelete@Tomas: thank you.
@MB: they are.
@Francisco: thanks!
@Marleen: it is!
@Tom: they are.
@Beth: it is.
Absolutely stunning! Love all these beautiful tulips.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular!
ReplyDeleteTulip festival is a great idea for the city. It shows off the city.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of tulips. Tulip season is coming to an end in my area this week.
ReplyDeleteso much more light and color in these shots!
ReplyDeleteGlorious burst of colour!
ReplyDelete@SRQ: they put on quite a show this year.
ReplyDelete@Sandi: they are!
@Red: it does indeed.
@Stefan: the tulips were late this year because of the kind of winter we had. Some years, the last weekend of the festival, you end up having most of them gone. This year they were at their peak on the last weekend.
@Cloudia: they dazzle with colour.
@Linda: indeed!
CBS Sunday Morning did several segments on the Netherlands, including the history of the tulips.
ReplyDeleteThe variety of color is wonderful. And I love Notre Dame in the background!
ReplyDeleteInteresting how some of the areas have mixed colors.
ReplyDeleteAll very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWonderful. I like pictures with white and red tulips the most, because these are colours of Poland :-)
ReplyDeleteActually these are Canada's colours too :-)
DeleteFabulous, William!
ReplyDeleteBow to the beauty of the tulip, so beautiful.
ReplyDelete@Norma: the Dutch do love their tulips!
ReplyDelete@Lowell: I love to get shots of the church from this angle, particularly at this time of year.
@Catalyst: the mixed ones are really quite a splash of colours.
@Whisk: they are!
@Klara: red and white together are often planted as a nod to our colours. The Canada 150 tulip (of which there were a lot) has both colours in one.
@RedPat: thanks!
@Bill: they are.
Beautiful, I don't think I've seen so many wonderful tulips and colours.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
More spectacular colors! They really are putting on a show.
ReplyDeleteIncredible!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous any way you look at them. I know you love winter, William, but I can't imagine that the tulip festival isn't something you enjoy, too.
ReplyDeleteThe tulips, whatever their colour are beautiful. If only I were in Canada now, I will be so awed by their beauty!
ReplyDeleteI really love all these tulips.
ReplyDeleteWhat a spectacle! And Notre Dame looks majestic.
ReplyDeleteAn amazing display and Notre Dame and National Gallery make perfect backdrops.
ReplyDelete:-)
ReplyDelete@Jan: we have a lot.
ReplyDelete@Lois: that's true.
@Mari: definitely.
@Kay: I love the festival.
