I have some odds and ends today. I'm starting with this late March shot from the campus at the University of Ottawa, looking at Tabaret Hall.
Close by is St. Joseph's Catholic Church, a longtime presence on campus. The parish dates back to 1856, and this is the third church, consecrated in 1932 after the second church was largely destroyed by fire.
From a building of beauty to an eyesore- this is all that's left of a school built in Lowertown a century ago. A developer is supposedly going to use the retained two walls left here for a future project, but this has been like this for years on end.
One day in late March I came across this Lamborghini in the Byward Market.
During a visit to Vanier, I found this mural on a wall. It consists of panels mounted onto the wall, as opposed to painted on.
I shot this late in the day at Carleton University in early April, enjoying the aspects of light pole, gulls, and the Moon in a clear blue sky.
This is another shot from early April. This fellow was sitting behind the wheel while his human was off in a nearby store. Occupying the driver's seat- it's a very dog sort of thing to do.
I finish with these small blue flowers, taken a few days ago in Central Park in the Glebe. They always show up first in spring.
I do like that mural. And the little blue flowers are a perfect harbinger of spring.
ReplyDeleteBelas fotografias, gostei bastante daquela máquina vermelha.

Dogs can be so funny sometimes :)
ReplyDeleteI trust the dog wasn't driving the Lamborghini. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe red car has a cousin in the USA. A car designed by industrialist Henry Covington:

There is a lot going on in these photos!

...William, my favorite is the honey bee mural.
ReplyDelete@Kay: they are!
ReplyDelete@Francisco: thanks!
@Marleen: they can be.
@Revrunner: definitely not.
@Janis: that was the idea!
@Tom: it's a good one!
Odds and ends? I like the bright sunny wall mural.
ReplyDeleteYou still have snow???
ReplyDeleteDarn William, I thought that red beauty was your new car!
ReplyDeleteA really cool collection of photos. Got to wonder when all these churches burn down if someone is trying to tell somebody(s) something! So, how much did you pay for that little red speedster? Love the dog! They are so darn cute.
ReplyDeleteNice gadding about with you William!
ReplyDeleteyou always TELL as well as show!
DeleteInteresting random shots.

Super series of shots William, will be interesting to see if they ever do anything with the old school, the land would be valuable i should think! Love the mural, good idea to do it on panels.. changeable without painting over it!
ReplyDeleteI really love that bee mural!
ReplyDeleteI like the wall with flowers, the blue flowers and of course the cute furry driver.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought it's only one wall of the building! I love mural with flowers and bees.
ReplyDeleteNice mural and I like that it is done with panels. The dog in the drivers seat is a common sight here too, it makes you smile.
ReplyDeleteWilliam, did you get a new car? enjoy the new wheels!! love the blooms. so cool ... both the painted ones and real ones. NICE!! ( ;
ReplyDelete@Red: I have no idea how long that mural's been there, but I occasionally stop at a shop on the other side of the building.
ReplyDelete@Norma: not anymore- though there were a few stray flakes on the last day of April!
@Sharon: I'd much rather have a Jeep!
@Lowell: dogs certainly are!
@Cloudia: thank you!
@MB: thanks!
@Grace: I doubt anything will be done there anytime soon.
@Linda: it's quite a work of art.
@Gunn: the furry driver's adorable.
@Klara: it really stands out.
@Bill: that's their nature!
@Beth: not to my taste in cars, but well worth photographing.
Lovely blue flowers. I don't think anything good is going to happen at the mostly destroyed building.
ReplyDeleteLiked the red car though I'm not much of a car freak. We've a few buildings propped up with scaffolding for years as well.
ReplyDeleteLove these 'odds and ends' selection.
ReplyDeleteThe Lamborghini looks good, but my favourites are the mural and the blue flowers.
All the best Jan
A nice mix. Love the one of the dog in the driver's seat!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you explained they were a mix! The ice and snow are taking me aback!
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers.
ReplyDelete@Mari: I doubt it.
ReplyDelete@William: this one's more of a wreck by the year, it seems.
@Jan: thanks!
@Mike: me too!
@Jennifer: yes, sometimes I'm weeks behind in posting from when I took the shots.
@Whisk: thanks!
