Sparkling Works

Here we have looks at the biggest ice sculpture in the park, carved for the Winter Olympics, featuring the mascots of the Games. One of the mascots was carved as a standalone sculpture close by.

This wall of ice, featuring several of the sports in the Games, was in the shelter containing some activities related to the Games.

Here is another take on those mittens in ice blocks.

And a final look at the harness racing team carved out of ice.

While this is the logo of the CBC, carved in ice. The CBC was the official broadcaster of the Games in Canada.

Here we have some of the one block sculptures lit up at night around the fountain in the park.

  21. Ice carving just boggles my mind! There is something so Zen about the effort put into creating a work of art that cannot last. Beautiful photos of these lovely carvings.
