Autumn

Today I'm beginning to show some fall colours, with an interruption at month's end for Hallowe'en and the theme day. I can always count on this maple to be among the earliest to show fall colours. It's along a quiet street in Centretown.

The Little Italy neighbourhood has for some time marked the fall by setting up harvest displays along Preston Street. This one is one of the larger ones this year, at Preston and Gladstone.

These were starting to turn early outside a home in Centretown.

A few blocks away, on another day I caught these leaves in the process of changing outside St. Peter & St. Paul's Anglican Church.

This one was on a quiet street in the Glebe.

This is a view at Dundonald Park early in the morning.

And this is at Minto Park late one afternoon.

I took this view in Jacques Cartier Park over in Gatineau while over there attending MosaiCanada.

I got these while visiting the stadium club level at Lansdowne a few days back, which I showed in yesterday's post. On the south side of the stadium, a large wooden screen wraps around the structure. I photographed fall colours through the gaps.

Here we have another view at Dundonald Park on another day early in the month, of a tree in transition.

Some days later I photographed these colours in Centretown.

  4. I don't think fall colours are going to be very spectacular this year, but you got some good photos. Hoping I'm wrong.

    Thank you for alerting me that our GDP isn't uploading on your blog roll. Any idea what it might be? We are baffled. Others have said the same.

    Thanks, William,

  5. Colourful leaves, blue skies, and sunshine - when these all come together, as they have done here, then Autumn shows you just how beautiful it can be.

    @Janis: it sometimes depends on the area. I don't know what could be wrong with your site- I know it's not showing up in terms of one of the other blogs I follow, which lists a series of posts, including yours, by most recently published.

    @Tom: it certainly is.

    @Rosemary: that's true.

    @Sandi: and I'm looking forward to snow. We've actually seen the odd flake here and there in recent days.
