Serenity In A Place Of Eternal Rest

I'm carrying on today with this look at Woodlawn Cemetery in Guelph.

This one, with a cat and dog inscribed on the stone, caught my eye.

  1. It looks somber on a gray day. But yes, it is restful.

  2. I also like to read the inscriptions on the gravestones. The one with the dog and cat is very unusual.
    Have a lovely Monday William.

  4. I always wince a little at the euphemism, Eternal Rest. Dead is what it is.

  7. It does look like a peaceful place. And the marker with the animals is sweet, obviously an animal lover lies there.

  9. It reminds me very much of the cemetery where my parents are buried back in Quincy Illinois. It looks a lot like this in the winter months.

  10. We don't see the large cemeteries here as there are too few of us and we haven't lived here that long.

  20. So unusual to see all that snow in your neighborhood William - over here we are sweltering in a heat wave with multiple bushfires in all directions
