Picking up where I left off yesterday in the Rideau Chapel, here we have some of the other statues. The Virgin is flanked by statues of Peter and Paul on the south side of the space.
The Chapel, with its Tudor vaulted ceilings, is a work of art in and of itself.
The placement of the speakers, with each voice of the choir coming from just the one, winds up creating the effect of a sound sculpture in this space. You don't see it, but you feel it within the space- the voices singing together creating something that you can not just hear but feel. It's hard to explain, but once you've been in it, you understand. The overall result is a very peaceful feeling, an achingly beautiful addition to what's already a beautiful space. No recording allowed, but take a look at this video for a taste of the music, and the artist speaking about it.

Those fan vaults on the chapel ceiling are just stunning -- along with the ambient light from the windows. This is really a special spot.
