Two Ice Sculptures

This large ice sculpture with a floral motif really caught my eye. Ideally, these ice sculptures do far better if they're sheltered. Otherwise they're exposed to sunlight, wind, and other elements that can render them opaque. For years, shelters were used for the bulk of the ice sculptures, but when Sparks Street became the site for this event in 2020, that stopped being the case.

Nearby, this large sculpture, a mososaur, done for the Canadian Museum of Nature.

I close out for today with this, which caught my eye. Not sure if it's here for the festival or has been here longer, as it's been quite awhile since I was last at this intersection of the street.

    1. Alas, not without shelter. They're quite fragile, and exposure makes a mess of them.
