Last weekend I took a shuttle into Gatineau Park to take in the fall colours on the Quebec side of the river. The Gatineau Hills are a southern tip of the vast Canadian Shield, and a foothold of the Laurentian Mountains. Much of the area is set aside as a federal park, and the National Capital Commission runs shuttle buses during the weekends into the Hills, with stops along the way. I decided to go along, even with a sore left ankle- I'd misstepped a couple of weeks earlier, and the foot wasn't up to par. But I wanted to see the colours. I took shots from the bus along the route to my first destination.
We can still see the beautiful colours.

DeleteWhen we go to Gatineau we have our moment of decadence - the best poutine ever from a little roadside restaurant we have been going to “forever”. My arteries immediately go into rehab I am sure!
ReplyDeletePoutine is a once a month thing for me.
DeleteLooking forward to the rest of this tour.
ReplyDeleteTake care of your ankle.

DeleteHope that ankle heals well and soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm being careful. I pushed myself too far that day, but felt I didn't have a choice.
DeleteOh no William! I love walking too and any problems with ankles/feet/legs are never good. Hope you're back to 100% very soon. The colours are taking time to change this year. I was up north 2 weeks ago and it was still green. Seeing more reds and oranges in the city this week. I'm glad you got out.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteEasy to sprain an ankle, especially when you're looking through a viewfinder so much of the time. Hope the ankle heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteLots of rest and ice.
