Carvings

This large sculpture is based on the Ojibwe spirit horse, a specific breed of the tribe.

More of the ice sculptures for the businesses along the street.

A hint of things tomorrow- this was taken during the evening.

And with these two, this is what happens when ice sculptures are left in the open. These were taken a week later, with whatever features that were carved into them rendered opaque. This has been the problem ever since the ice sculptures were moved to Sparks Street- the inexplicable absence of shelters for the sculptures. Shelters keep them protected from the effects of the sun and the wind.

  6. Artists aren't going to want their hard work just destroyed in a few hours! Well I hope you can influence the powers that be, somehow, to have shelters for the sculptures again.

  8. Who said ice carving was simple. It doesn't last long if you don't know how to protect it.
