It is rather fitting to have this kind of material over the Easter weekend. We begin today with this large canvas, Abraham And The Three Angels, by Bartolome Esteban Murillo, dating circa 1670-74.
To the left is a bust by Bernini. Maffeo Barberini, Pope Urban VIII dates circa 1632.
Bust Of A King is a bust by Pierre Puget, circa 1663-68.
The Return Of The Prodigal Son, dating circa 1655-65, is an oil painting by Salvator Rosa.
Mattia Preti painted The Feast Of Absalom around 1656-61.
The Crucifixion Of Saint Andrew was painted by Luca Giordano, circa 1650-59.
Lastly for today, this is The Arrest Of Christ, by Matthias Stom, circa 1630-32.

DeleteEaster in Sweden means that schools are closed all week, parents take a few days off work. But it has nothing to do with religion, but we do eat more eggs!
ReplyDeleteI must buy a chocolate egg or two.
