A reminder to members of City Daily Photo: the theme for May 1st is Very Small.
I begin today with Scenes From Ovid's Metamorphoses, circa 1525, by Antonio Di Donnino Mazzieri.
Blessing Christ is from the workshop of Bellini, circa 1500.
Another altarpiece, this is The Assumption Of The Virgin, by Neri Di Bicci, done from 1455-56.
The Virgin And Child is a sculpture dating around 1485 by Gregorio Di Lorenzo.
The Christ Child And The Infant John The Baptist comes from the workshop of Botticelli, around 1490.
And to close things out, two paintings that were originally two of six, meant as panels on two wedding chests, circa 1475. We start with Esther At The Palace Gate, by Filippino Lippi, under the direction of Botticelli.
And this is by Botticelli himself- The Triumph Of Mordechai, From The Book Of Esther.
