Steampunk And Good Dogs

I left off yesterday with a hint of today. Performers were in place during Glowfair at this spot, collectively called Majinx. Their equipment was decidedly of the steampunk style, that mix of 19th century style and retro-tech that's popular in some science fiction. This woman, for instance, had tech wings as part of her outfit, and was posing for passersby who would sit in the machine beside her.

Her partner manned a movable booth, doing card tricks and other gimmicks for onlookers.

The machine with its intricate decorations and throwback sensibility was something worth photographing in and of itself.

A street magician was one of the other buskers regularly performing during the festival.

For a different kind of performance, a group called Iron X Fitness had set up a pole as a part of what they were up to- they would have also been behind the fitness classes I've previously shown. This woman, part of the group, looked quite at ease. Contrast this with the few guys who made an attempt at this, and they didn't look anywhere near as composed.

I saw quite a number of dogs out with their humans during Glowfair. This one caught my eye.

This pup was the subject of much attention. Eurasier is the name of the breed, and he or she was just lapping up the attention, pretty much ignoring the fire tricks of a busker down the street.

  22. This event looks like a lot of fun, William, and I enjoyed seeing the photos in this post and the previous one. Thanks too for your comments on my blog posts about our continuing cross country road trip. I have fallen behind in commenting on fellow bloggers posts because of a lack of time. Hope to return on a more regular basis in a couple of weeks as we expect to be back in NH by Sept.
