Impressionism

We begin today with The Stone Bridge in Rouen, Dull Weather. This is by Impressionist artist Camille Pissarro, in 1896.

Alfred Sisley was another of the Impressionist movement. This is his work, The Hillsides at Bougival, from 1875.

Rue de l'Hermitage, Pontoise is the title of this Pissarro painting from 1875.

Paul Gauguin was Post-Impressionist in his style. The Quarries of Le Chou Near Pontoise dates to 1882.

I finish today with a work by my favourite of the Impressionist movement, Claude Monet. The Gallery has several works by Monet. Waterloo Bridge: Effect of Sunlight in the Fog is from 1903.

  3. Many year ago I visited Rouen, but I don't remember the stone bridge. But I was there to meet a French girl, and bridges were not on my mind!
