Part Of The Act

The Bang Bang Boys are an act consisting of two performers who have been in Ottawa before. One of them, David Aiken, was also doing a solo act this year under his professional name Checkerboard Guy. The other, Jean Michael Pare, has been featured here as part of the Flying Dutchmen. Their act is part vaudeville and part clown, and it was fun to watch them at work.

  16. We saw a number of street performers in Europe a couple of summers ago. It's fun to watch and a crowd gathers, as in your photos.

  17. @Cheryl: it's a wonderful event to take in each year.

    @Stuart: well, they do make enough to travel from show to show... I imagine those tips can add up. I also know it's common for them to get booked up for corporate events as well.

    @Beth: I could probably manage two items. These guys were tossing seven bowling pins between them at one point.

    @Marleen: it was a treat to take in.

    @RedPat: it certainly is. One of my favourite events here each year.

    @Linda: they really know how to work a crowd and get people to stop and take in the act.

  20. The crowd looks pleased, but pictures cannot convey a vaudeville act without sound--unless one is Charlie Chaplin.

    @Mari: that's true.

    @Revrunner: a lot of it.

    @Kay: somewhere on Facebook, the busker festival site warned not to google Bang Bang Boys. I can just imagine why!
