Twilight Over The Canal

One evening earlier this month there was a brilliant sunset amid cloudy skies. I walked onto the Bank Street Bridge and started to take photographs over the Rideau Canal.

I decided to take comparison shots in different settings- normal, black and white, negative, sepia, and aqua.

Here's one more look. The next day we had rain.

  2. Brilliant! I'm useless at twilight and night shots - should use a tripod! But you've managed really well - and I like the experimentation with different settings.

  8. Interesting experimentation with the different settings. I've tried that and most of the time I prefer the originall but sometimes sepia or black and white. It's good to do that just to see what it looks like. I like that you did it at sunset. I'll have to give it a go.
    Enjoy your day William!

@Bill: of the alternatives, I prefer the black and white for general use. I should photograph Parliament Hill in black and white.

  21. This time it is the photographs that are fabulous. Perhaps I should give that adjective to Mother Nature or the photographer.
