Seeing The Morning Star

Morning Star is by the Dene artist Alex Janvier, painted on this dome in the Museum in 1993. Done in his signature abstract style, it is a massive painting that is my favourite work of art in the National Capital Region- and I don't usually go for abstract work. Here we view it from the floor of the Grand Hall, with a much closer view available from the top floor.

One of the things I like to do is use the staircase and escalators to frame the mural and give different perspectives of it. We'll have more of Morning Star tomorrow.
