Here we have another look at the blue whale skeleton that forms the heart of the Water Gallery.
More display panels are found.
This is a replica of an ungainly looking critter of the sea.
More panels examine different aspects of life in water.
For today I leave off with three models. Each has a person alongside it for scale, demonstrating the sheer size of these animals of the oceans.
Models were cool!
ReplyDeleteWow. We are the tiniest, it seems... here...
ReplyDeleteThe blue whale skeleton is impressive !
ReplyDeleteI once showed a video about beginnings where they squeezed water out of a meteorite. I forget how. Heat maybe. I guess the point was that water always existed.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe we have almost exterminated some of the ocean's creatures.
ReplyDeleteThe whale skeleton is quite impressive.
ReplyDelete@Cloudia: indeed.
ReplyDelete@Iris: in this case.
@Karl: it is.
@Anvilcloud: in one form or another.
@David: true.
@Bill: it is.
The underwater world is sure mind boggling!
ReplyDeleteThat skeleton is enormous. I like how they decided to display it.
ReplyDeleteThat is one huge whale!
ReplyDeleteWonderful models.
ReplyDeleteWe had a 10 m long stranded sperm whale vearby last week, so sad.
That comparison between a person and the fish is startling. They are really huge creatures.
ReplyDeleteThose scale models are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed by whales...that they even exist! It seem some new sighting of some which were thought to be extinct was on the news recently. Wish I'd paid more attention to the TV, but I missed which kind, except that they have babies so are thought to be on a come=back.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have water on our planet!
It is amazing to consider how large whales are.
ReplyDeleteBlue whales are so impressive.
ReplyDelete...the smaller the organism, the more plentiful they are!
ReplyDeleteI’d love to stand next to that blue whale!
ReplyDeleteI like the weird looking creatures of the sea, they're different.
ReplyDeleteThe whale skeleton is impressive.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Had me singing "Under the Sea!"
ReplyDeleteAll the water there ever was or will be is what we have now. Shame what we are doing to it.
ReplyDeleteWhales are so amazing. We cannot fathom their size from pictures but when you are out in the ocean and one comes by your small fishing boat----WOW! it is amazing

@Jan: alas.
@Sharon: they are.
@RedPat: I think so.
@Barbara: they're so big that they need water for buoyancy.
@Tammie: they can get huge.
@Marleen: I agree.
@Tom: so it seems.
@Marie: it's quite something.
