Wanderings Of A Canadian Loon Through The National Capital And Beyond
Continuing on in the Baroque Room, this is Christ and The Woman of Samaria. It is by Guercino, and dates to 1647.
The Crucifixion of Saint Andrew is a dramatically lit work by Luca Giordino, circa 1650-59.
Impressive works again and the room itself is art.
A visit to a museum would be so welcome, now!
Great museum and photos. I followed your blog now. Thx

Hello,Beautiful paintings, I like the view of the Baroque Room! Have a great day and a happy week ahead.
You have been spending a lot of time in the Baroque Room, William.
@Iris: definitely the case.@Italiafinlandia: understandable.@Vicky: thanks.@Francisco: thanks.@Eileen: I do too.@David: I did.
...that room is gorgeous.
I wonder what direction art would have taken if it had not been necessary to appease the church.
Great work indeed!
Amazing paintings and those red rooms.... like surrounded by the blood of the artists during that time. I cannot imagine how they must've suffered for their art.Thanks for sharing William,eden
Beautiful photos! Love them
These remind me of many of the paintings I've seen in Italy.

A lot of drama going on in those oil paintings. Lots of finger pointing.

I wonder if the wings are heavy to wear ? Nice old paintings !
Beautiful old artworks William, beautifully displayed here ✨
i always prefer Christ (Jesus) views that make him look super kind and friendly. this is one ... i think of him being a bit dark in color. not white like myself. but any who ... whatever makes your heart happy. do that. ( ;
Yes, again I'm touched by the exceptional detail and lighting, it really draws a person in. Nice room too, I like the shade of paint.
The colours at top (first work) are striking!
@Gemel: it's well arranged.@Joanne: definitely.@Shammickite: indeed.@Eve: so do I.@Gattina: perhaps.@Grace: I think so too.@Beth: perhaps, yes.@Karen: it does.@Cloudia: thanks!
