Picking up where I left off yesterday. These are wide views of Sparks Street in evening light during Winterlude 2020. We've got a theme day in June for CDP on The Road, and this pedestrian mall, which ranges a few blocks long, is probably the choice I'll go with for that one.
Here we have more ice sculptures.
A short walk away in Confederation Park, there were some other ice sculptures. I stand by what I said yesterday: this is a much more suitable location for the big ice sculptures.
Across the street from Confederation Park on the west side is the Lord Elgin Hotel, always one of the official hotels for Winterlude. A set of ice sculptures is always posted outside their main entrance during Winterlude.
The terrace off to the right side of the main entrance hosts an ice bench each year for the hotel. In 2020 it featured tulips, an appropriate subject as the hotel was marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands by Canadian soldiers in World War Two.
Wonderful work all around!
ReplyDeleteDespite the cold I would wrap up and go to see this!
