Winterlude 2019 saw me back in Jacques Cartier Park in Gatineau, where these works by a local wood carver could be found.
Down along the shore of the frozen Ottawa River, I took this shot looking back at the high ground of the Ottawa side of the river, with the familiar landmarks of the National Gallery, Nepean Point, Alexandra Bridge, and Parliament Hill on display.
Here we have one of the big snow slides, with the Museum of History in the background.
The back of the slide had a bas-relief carved into it.
The space at left is enough to walk into, giving you reference for how big these things get.
There were also snow sculptures, with a theme of imagination. We'll see more of them tomorrow.
Particularly creative. 👍
