This is the glass lantern at the National Arts Centre back in 2019, with its LED surface illuminated with an ice sculpture at night.
Sparks Street had a few ice sculptures around too.
Back in the Byward Market near the big sculptures, some ice benches and chairs had been created for photo ops.
As well as a few smaller sculptures for demonstrations for visitors later in Winterlude.
A few blocks away, several blocks of Bank Street had ice sculptures out and about.
Glass lantern is cool William
ReplyDeleteCold wonders is the perfect title!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so clever. (I once sat on a wasp and that ice throne would have been ideal at that time!)
ReplyDeleteI think by the time I have finished watching a movie, the chair has melt !
ReplyDeleteLove the ice sculptures, the moose is a favorite.
ReplyDeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
...I'd like a hot cocoa right about now!
ReplyDelete@Cloudia: it is.
ReplyDelete@italiafinlandia: I thought so.
@John: uh oh!
@Gattina: one does not sit on an ice throne for long.
@Eileen: thank you.
@Tom: tea for me this morning.
Such sparkle!
ReplyDeleteThey are each wonderful works of art, yet for me the lantern is the really beautiful piece here.
ReplyDeleteThe antlers are amazing!
ReplyDeleteHot cocoa and ice benches, wonderful:)
ReplyDeleteLoved the 1st the best today!
ReplyDeleteIt is no wonder that you enjoy winter so much.
ReplyDelete@David: indeed.
ReplyDelete@Gemel: it stands out.
@Marie: that they are.
@Rosie: I think so.
@Magiceye: thanks!
@RedPat: I do indeed.
The 1st is my favourite. A frozen hot cocoa!
ReplyDeleteA frozen hot cocoa looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteI like the castle and the way it's lit.
ReplyDeleteSitting in that chair for a photo is a cold (and wet) prospect.
ReplyDeleteEse sillón de hielo, debe de estar bastante frío, yo no hubiera sido capaz de sentarme en él.
ReplyDelete@Nancy: emphasis on frozen.
ReplyDelete@Bill: that is true.
@Jan: I do too.
@Sharon: one doesn't sit long!
@Ventana: thank you.
Love the sculptures! Tweeted.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThat must have been a cold seat that gentleman was sitting on and hot cocoa written on an ice mug gave me a smile. Hope you feel better soon as I just read what you posted in a coment on my blog today. We went for a 2nd booster shot today because we could.
ReplyDeleteThere's some improvement today.
DeleteAll pretty neat and interesting.
