Church And Watermills

Carrying on, here we have Mary Magdalen, by Domenico Puligo, circa 1520-25.

Portrait Of A Man With A Felt Hat is by Lorenzo Lotto, and is thought to date to 1541.

Pierantonio Bandini is the title of this portrait by Agnolo Bronzino, dating to 1550-55

Dutch artist Emanuel De Witte painted A Sermon In The Old Church In Delft around 1650.

Here we have The Annunciation Of The Virgin's Death, by Paulus Bor, dating to 1635-40.

I finish today with this landscape by Meindert Hobbema, dating to around 1670. Landscape With Two Watermills looks devoid of activity, but as a docent pointed out to me once, when you start really looking at it, there are people everywhere.

  5. Buenos retratos, con motivos eclesiƔsticos. Se ven que son grandes pintores los que lo han realizado.

  10. I found at least a few of the people in the landscape -- kind of a grown-up version of a child's search for the object puzzle although I'm sure the artist would not love that description. It's a wonderful experience to be able to visit such a lovely gallery easily. Thanks for sharing it with those of us from smaller less cultured places!!

  17. Beautiful paintings, I like the landscape as where I lived in Brooklyn, NY was called "mill Basin" as there were the ruins of old Dutch mills in the marshes.

    1. Given the old Dutch connections that is not a surprise.
