Stoned

No, not the Rob Ford kind of stoned. And no, not the Old Testament kind either. MacDonald Gardens is east of the Byward Market. There's a stone shelter set on a rise here. I visited the park several weeks ago when things were nice and green.

I've liked the way the arches can frame a photograph.

This arch looks west, where you can see the spire of the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill.

  1. Any bets on how many comments you get about the arches at McDonald's ?! Regardless, these are nicely composed shots. I really like that tree shadow spreading over the mound in the first one.

  2. I'm coming back to Michel Petrucciani.I'm really surprised that as a Jazzfan you do not know him. It:s if you say I love literature but do not kniow Joyce or Beckett. But ok Ottawa is far away . Petrucciani signed up with Blue Note..and lived most of his short life in NY...and performed with Wayne Shorter and many other great Jazzmen. So a little information for you. Have a nice day in Ottawa ! Ben

  6. I like the arched stonework and particularly the view of the last photo in the series. It reveals an architectural mix of old and new.

    1. I have such a great fondness for arches, admittedly.

  7. This could be a perfect spot for taking several seasonal shots (it would be easy to get the same angle from the same arch, I'm always forgetting exactly where I stood when I try it!)
