At the Museum of Nature, tulips were also out and about on display in glorious red and yellow.
Returning back to Dow's Lake, this oversized pair of wooden shoes could be found on display. Kids were having fun posing for pictures.
The crowds in the park were quite hectic on this particular day.
In this bed of tulips, we have three types: Orange Angelique (orange), Mount Tacoma (white), and Abigail (purple).
Boy oh boy those sure are pretty. Mount Tacoma huh? Mt. Rainier out thisaway was first named Mt. Tacoma after the Native American name of Tahoma. I'll bet the white Tulip is named after it. I'll say so. MB
ReplyDeleteIt had to be a gigantic work of gardeners at these tulips. It appears from your photos that tulips do not end there.
ReplyDeleteIs it really that warm already? Kids in tees? Wow!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours, I love the purple ones!
Such gorgeous displays, what a joy to look at!
ReplyDeleteLove the giant Dutch wooden clogs. I suppose that's a symbolic tip of the hat to Dutch immigrants, isn't it?

ReplyDeleteMy goodness, the colors and that park are amazing. I like the field with a variety of different tulips. I wonder what the kids do in those big shoes? The people in Ottawa certainly do love their tulips - with good reason!
ReplyDeleteI am truly amazed at how many places in Ottawa plant tulips! I'm guessing annuals must be planted in the gardens once the tulips are finished blooming.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen such an amazing array of colors...and the wooden shoes are a fun touch!
ReplyDelete@MB: I assumed so the first time I saw the name.
ReplyDelete@Mariusz: some more tulips to come, but we are in the homestretch.

@Lowell: they are a wonderful attraction.
