It seems appropriate to use that Dutch word today; afscheid means goodbye. All good things must come to an end, and so we come to the last of our tulip shots for the year. A count of the posts brings me up to nearly three weeks worth of these posts. The tulip beds on Parliament Hill were beautiful this year. I paid visits on more than one occasion.
We have ourselves another stray yellow hiding out on the lam among other tulips.
Beyond the main tulip beds, on either side of the base of the Peace Tower are two smaller tulip beds. This is the east one.
And this is the west side, offering a view of the side arch looking into the main entrance.
I leave off with a final shot of tulips and the Peace Tower. It requires getting really low down to the ground to get this shot in. I hope you've enjoyed this tour of the tulips here, and I look forward to next year, when they'll be back once again to enchant us.
Love this series. That one yellow flower among all the others is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the last shot! It was a fantastic series! What next? Irises?
ReplyDeleteIt was a wonderful, and colorful, tour ! And a great finale. Thanks !
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots, William. That's certainly a huge number of tulips. I'll have a few showing from a visit to Dunham Massey on A Bit About Britain soon - but nothing like the number you've pictured. Was the yellow one meant to be there, I wonder - or a nice subversive little rogue?
ReplyDeleteOnly a word, these tulips are marmellous.
ReplyDeleteTomás.
All beautiful, but I especially like that next to the last shot. That's the one I'd frame. :-)
ReplyDeleteFabulous series on tulips!
ReplyDeletei love that little yellow tulip being different than all the rest, good for him!
ReplyDelete@Linda: it does stand out!
ReplyDelete@Ciel: no, but I do have spring blossoms.
@Stuart: you're welcome!
@Mike: every once in awhile a bulb will get mixed in with another crowd.
@Tomas: thank you!
@Revrunner: thanks!
@EG: it has been a pleasure to show them
@Tanya: it is quite different!
The last shot is a wonderful way to see goodbye to the tuilps for this year.
ReplyDelete"Dag tulpen, tot volgend jaar!"
The more the better! Gorgeous William.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, William. I had no idea and I wouldn't have imagined that any city would have so many tulips. And I love the stone structures that are graced with such beauty. In that 4th shot, it looks like you've captured some sort of graduating class. :)
ReplyDeleteI really have enjoyed seeing all of your tulip pictures, especially since we don't have many down here.
ReplyDeleteAn amazing set of pictures, I mean all the series. Your last image is simply great!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the lovely look at the Tulips. Very enjoyable. Always fun to see the lone tulip marching to his own music. LOL
ReplyDeleteMB
@Jan: thank you!
ReplyDelete@Luis: thanks!
@Lowell: as I recall, it was a visiting class of students. I think one of the local schools has a uniform policy.
@Lois: it's a pleasure to be showing these ones off.
@VP: thank you! I decided I had to finish with that one.
@MB: somehow those rogue tulips seem to catch people's attention!
