To quote that immortal philosopher Bugs Bunny, ain't I a stinker?
I took these shots during a couple of stormy days back in March. These first two are in Old Ottawa South.
This quiet path is in Little Italy, looking quite snowbound.
St. Anthony's Church looks quite chilly, doesn't it? Compare it to when I last showed it to you.
Laurier Avenue downtown also looks windswept. Lovely, lovely, lovely cold white snow...
These flags were flowing in the wind at Carleton University.
The view out the windows in the library gave me quite a pleasant view too towards the Rideau Canal. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm sure there are more than a few people thinking right now of having me drawn and quartered. I'll be back into Doors Open related material tomorrow.
Great series, William! I love snow and rain photos. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful !
ReplyDeleteThe path in Little Italy and Laurier Avenue should be Christmas or New Years Day cards. Outstanding.
I don't mind the snow and would love to have snow, rain anything right now.
It is 9:30 pm and it is 92 outside. Way to hot even for me.
cheers, parsnip
Pretty scenes! I guess you are in a good place for someone who loves snow.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy SUMMER now!
ReplyDeleteAnd the weekend:)
Pretty but I would rather enjoy the sunny summer weather. MB
ReplyDeleteWe had temperatures in the 90s yesterday -- I wouldn't mind a chilly day!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about snowy days at all in my world even though it can get quite cold - as it is now in our Winter. beautiful scenes of quiet white.
ReplyDeleteYou don't want to see this now I hope, a little homesickness to wintertimes? Enjoy your summer now!
ReplyDeleteLol, I hear you! I'm much more of a winter person too but I have to admit I enjoy the blue sky at the moment! Excellent summer solstice post William!
ReplyDeleteUnexpected summer solstice photos.
ReplyDeleteOk.. these pictures are pretty but unlike you I have had enough of snow.. YEAH summer.. my long lost friend, you are finally here!
ReplyDelete@Linda: I love the snow. I miss the snow!
ReplyDelete@Parsnip: that is much too hot!
@Linda: we do get lots!
@Gunn: we are now one day closer to winter.
@MB: ah but winter is so wonderful!
@tamera: a chill is a good thing!
@Gemma: thank you!
@Bieb: winter is my favourite season.
@Ciel: thank you!
@Kate: I have had this post in mind for today since March.
I was quite worried about your weather, then I read more carefully...
ReplyDeleteThis is just cruel, Kendall!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, for a second there I thought you had some crazy summer weather. Beautiful shots!
ReplyDeletethanks! i needed that mental cool-down! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen heat of summer blazes down
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have a turn around
Look back to what it used to be
When cold attacked both you and me
When icicles dropped on our heads
When toes went numb as did our brain
When fingers froze so once again
We can rejoice in summer's breeze!
And I thought you'd be dancing around Canada's version of Stonehenge!
ReplyDeleteA little breeze of arctic air to cool down this scorching weekend in the desert.
ReplyDelete@Hilary: but winter is more pleasant!
ReplyDelete@VP: I thought of adding in captions about the Donner Party in Ottawa...
@Norma: I couldn't resist!
@Krisztina: thank you!
@Tex: my pleasure!
@Lowell: good one!
@Cheryl: we have a Stonehenge?
@Sharon: anything helps in the heat!
Now That's a surprising post on this day in June! ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, but glad we've got a little break from winter!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, but I truly hope you are enjoying a sunny sky right now.
ReplyDeleteBeing an original SoCal Gal...I still can't wrap myself around the concept of Spring snow!!! One of the aspects of living in a ski resort that's not quite my cup of tea!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat winter shots, Williuam. I have always loved winter with snow and ice, but in summer I truly prefer nicer temperatures and some sun.
ReplyDeleteNice post for celebrating to winter.
ReplyDeleteIts like a countdown.
@Marleen: I couldn't resist running with it.
ReplyDelete@Greensboro: it'll be back soon enough!
@Luis: we've got a mostly sunny day today. My aunt used to say the weather you have on the first day of the season is indicative of what will follow all season.
@Chieftess: yes, you had snow not that long ago!
@Jan: I keep telling myself it'll be back soon enough!
@Feyza: yes! Every day from here on is one day closer to winter!
[Grin] You ol' sentimentalist! I can see this was entirely irresistible for you. You do know you're in a rare minority, don't you?
ReplyDeleteThanks, pal!
ReplyDeleteYou had me going there for a second. Not out of the realm of possibility. Thanks for 'cooling' things down.
ReplyDelete27˚C and sunny tomorrow - hurray!
ReplyDeleteTricked me for a sec! I thought it was a little extreme even for Canada. 97 here today.
ReplyDeleteHahaha!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to look back. It puts it all in perspective. By summer's end I am ready for change!
ReplyDeleteVery much a stinker but a smart one.
ReplyDeleteI saw these the other day but didn't have time to comment. So I'm back....you really had me going. Love all the shots :).
ReplyDeleteThat looks so cold!
ReplyDeleteEven one tenth of that snow, would cause chaos where I live. I guess that's not saying much, because heavy rain does the same thing. I know these are great photos because just looking at them, makes me feel cold.
I would never say these shots were taken in March! :-)
ReplyDelete@Kay: I know!
ReplyDelete@Birdman: you're welcome.
@Barbara: if only!
@RedPat: it's probably going to be hot today.
@Joan: we've got a warm day ahead.
@EG: thanks!
ReplyDelete@Jennifer: true.
@Lauren: thanks!
@Pat: we get a lot of snow.
@Jose: March for us is typically snowy.
