Tulip Paparazzi

I always try to take a pic at some point during the festival of people photographing the tulips. At least in this case, they're not adding themselves into the shot. I saw a number of people with selfie sticks on Friday evening, taking shots with themselves front and center, the tulips behind them. It's like the same sort of people who go to the Grand Canyon and have their family in every shot.

  10. One of my pet peeves in life - people who must get photographed in front of every landmark!! They don't care that you are standing patiently waiting for them to stop posing.

  13. I do the odd selfie, but never thought of taking a photo of something and putting myself in front? You have a good idea to put something else in the photo to go with the tulips.

    @Andy: every year in May, so one of these times, come on up.

    @Revrunner: no shortage of kinds, really.

    @Gemma: the colours this year have been good, and I'm still taking pics.

    @Marianne: I think they've come the tool of the self centered.

    @Gill: and yet people insist on taking them.

    @Jackie: I've always found it perplexing.

    @Halcyon: roses would be more to your liking?

    @Janis: it seemed entirely appropriate. I think I used it last year in commentary as well.

    @Tex: thank you!

    @Red: I occasionally catch myself in a reflection, but that's about it.

    @Jennifer: in this case, there's no shortage of opportunities!

    @RedPat: the crowds are really out this year.

    @Birdman: they certainly are.

    @Marleen: me too.

    @Sharon: thank you. More of that tulip bed tomorrow.

    @Eve: they're such a pretty kind of flower.

    @VP: I've spent a good deal of time thus far among the tulips. The festival wraps up tomorrow, but the tulips are still in good shape.

    @Ciel: I think the first time I heard of selfie sticks was in news articles about wanting to keep them out of certain galleries.
