I always try to take a pic at some point during the festival of people photographing the tulips. At least in this case, they're not adding themselves into the shot. I saw a number of people with selfie sticks on Friday evening, taking shots with themselves front and center, the tulips behind them. It's like the same sort of people who go to the Grand Canyon and have their family in every shot.
Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of selfies. But I am a great fan of tulips. These are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm back to Madrid, I've been away and could not see your blogs. This is wonderful with tulips.
ReplyDeleteTomás.
The violet are my favourites!
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful William ... a lovely capture of the photographer capturing the photographer.
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to visit Ottawa for the festival a few years but circumstances have prevented that from happening. One day I would like to see it.
ReplyDeleteSo many different varieties.
ReplyDeleteSuch a grand sight seeing so many tulips en masse. Great range of colours.
ReplyDeleteThose selfiesticks you see everywhere as if your photo is complete when you have your own face in it! :(
ReplyDeletethose selfie photos tend to be annoying after a while. Rather see the tulips!!!
ReplyDeleteMagníficas tulipas! Uma visão para eternizar
ReplyDeleteUm ótimo domingo
Abraços
One of my pet peeves in life - people who must get photographed in front of every landmark!! They don't care that you are standing patiently waiting for them to stop posing.
ReplyDeleteI love tulips, but I don't think they are one of the most photogenic flowers. :)
ReplyDeleteTulip paparazzi. Love that title!
ReplyDeleteJanis
GDP
they're really lovely.
ReplyDeleteI do the odd selfie, but never thought of taking a photo of something and putting myself in front? You have a good idea to put something else in the photo to go with the tulips.
ReplyDeleteThat's my fave photo, taking pics of people taking pics!
ReplyDeleteWhat a time this must be in Ottawa!
ReplyDeletePeople with cameras are prime for photos.
ReplyDeleteI love that pink and purple colours!
ReplyDelete@Linda: thanks!
ReplyDelete@Kay: they lighten the heart.
@Tomas: thanks!
@Karl: they stand out so well.
@Dianne: and in this case, the subject of the paparazzi is so much more pleasant than celebrities.
@Andy: every year in May, so one of these times, come on up.
@Revrunner: no shortage of kinds, really.
@Gemma: the colours this year have been good, and I'm still taking pics.
@Marianne: I think they've come the tool of the self centered.
@Gill: and yet people insist on taking them.
@Gracita: thank you!
ReplyDelete@Jackie: I've always found it perplexing.
@Halcyon: roses would be more to your liking?
@Janis: it seemed entirely appropriate. I think I used it last year in commentary as well.
@Tex: thank you!
@Red: I occasionally catch myself in a reflection, but that's about it.
@Jennifer: in this case, there's no shortage of opportunities!
@RedPat: the crowds are really out this year.
@Birdman: they certainly are.
@Marleen: me too.
Love these.
ReplyDeleteI never understood that obsession to be in every shot. I love that last picture of these gorgeous flowers.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite flower!
ReplyDeleteI think I could spend a day around those beautiful tulips, like many of these photographers...
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up. I'll never ever understand the selfie stuff nor will I understand that people want to take pictures of themselves everywhere they go. But I do love the tulips!
ReplyDelete@Whisk: thanks!
ReplyDelete@Sharon: thank you. More of that tulip bed tomorrow.
@Eve: they're such a pretty kind of flower.
@VP: I've spent a good deal of time thus far among the tulips. The festival wraps up tomorrow, but the tulips are still in good shape.
@Ciel: I think the first time I heard of selfie sticks was in news articles about wanting to keep them out of certain galleries.
Days and days of beautiful tulips. Wow! Love every photo, every flower! Thanks, William!
ReplyDeleteFunny title. People are funny, though. Not me and you, but others. If you know what I mean! :)
ReplyDeleteGlorious and it must be equally so to walk the byways where they are.
ReplyDeleteI would be right there in the middle of them all.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely beds of blooms, those paparazzi get everywhere...
ReplyDeleteAn ocean of beautiful tulips !
