World Of White

Turning now to Winterlude 2019, I start with snow sculptures in the Glebe neighbourhood. That year it was an animal theme, with this bear.

A beaver was down at Lansdowne.

Or this seal, outside a church.

This squirrel looked up to something.

A carver was working on this formidable owl.

Down the street is the Bank Street Bridge over the Rideau Canal. This view looked east one sunny day.

Another day, very different conditions. The snowplows were out just getting started on the skateway as a snowstorm raged.

The skateway looking west from the bridge.

And here we have things at Dow's Lake.

Downtown, this view looks southeast from the Mackenzie King Bridge.

Same bridge, different day, looking northwest. The familiar landmarks loom around the last stretch of the skateway.

Back in the Glebe, and close to the Bank Street Bridge, this view looking west.

And I finish today with the bridge itself, seen from the west side.

  6. I think I would enjoy skating on the days with blue skies although they are probably colder days.
