Vibrant Tulip Colours In Gatineau

On the same day I was taking shots in the Garden Of The Provinces And Territories, I headed over to Portage Bridge to take shots for my twice a month view of the Ottawa River ongoing series. After taking my shots, I proceeded along the bridge into Gatineau, because I wanted tulip shots on the Quebec side of the river. Where the bridge ends is some parkland with a large standalone bed of tulips. Two Canada geese were having lunch.

This is the large bed, a mix of white, pink, and yellow tulips this year.

Across the path, some tulips have migrated into the grass over the years, courtesy of the diligent work of squirrel gardeners.

  1. I have a squirrel/gardener too, but all he does is hide walnuts in my planters. If he planted the odd tulip I might be more appreciative of his efforts.

  18. So do the tulips get left in the ground all year round or are they uplifted at some point?
