The Cowguys

The Cowguys are a pair of buskers from here in Ottawa, blending circus, magic, and goofy stupidity into a performance that amuses the audience. These two started off with balancing and tossing hoops while I was there, and moved into one using a bullwhip to slice the celery the other was holding in his hand.

  6. I wonder how much damage was done before they figured out how to slice celery with a bullwhip? Sheesh! Fun to watch, though...

    And you really need to get a blizzard at Dairy Queen because you would find that blizzard and whatever it is that McDonald's put out is not even in the same world! Sheesh!

  10. I see they involve members of the audience which most great acts do. Now walking on the ball creates all kinds of tension. We wait for the guy to fall off and he makes us think he will fall off.

    @Bill: there was no shortage of fun.

    @Linda: indeed.

    @Marianne: yes.

    @Marleen: and more to come.

    @Lowell: it had to be a lot of practice.

    @Tex: I think so.

    @Noke: thanks!

  20. Novelty gimmicks in an act add a spark of interest to the routine. These guys must have been creative.

  21. @Sharon: it is!

    @Bill: I'd fall off.

    @Whisk: it's very silly.

    @RedPat: these were taken in the first half of the act- with buskers, the crowd seem to grow as the act goes along.

    @Lois: they were a treat to watch.

    @Beatrice: indeed!

    @Janis: there'll be girls to come!

    @Beth: it was a lot of fun.

  22. Good act. Papa was good with the bullwhip too. He never used it on the horses or cows though.

  24. I'm reminded of the song, "Make 'em laugh" from "Singin' in the Rain." Goofy is fun. Goofy works. Mix in a few skills and you've got an act.

  25. @Mari: I'd end up hurting myself!

    @Pat: oh, I'd think they were.

    @Kay: these guys had real talent.

    @Cheryl: in the wrong hands, it could be.

    @Jennifer: it's always the Civic Holiday weekend.
