I took these on a particularly wintery day in February, while Winterlude was going on, in streets around Old Ottawa South, the Glebe, and Centretown, including views of the Canal from the Bronson Bridge. The snow pack has gone down since then, as you've seen in shots from my St. Patrick's series, but it's been consistently cold in March thus far. And we got a bunch of it back thanks to that storm earlier this week.
...William, your snow look the same as mine, I'm ready to see spring!ReplyDelete
We hardly ever see that amount of snow here. Great winter shots, William!ReplyDelete
Winter takes it's time to leave...ReplyDelete
Pictures are great, but I really want to see a bit of spring in my city. I wish you the same.ReplyDelete
It's a jolly good thing you like snow so much William! Beautiful images here!ReplyDelete
That's a nasty bunch of snow. we don't get that much all winter.ReplyDelete
@Tom: spring still seems elusive! It's below freezing today, but sunny.ReplyDelete
@Marleen: our city's annual snow removal budget went over its line some time ago, so we've had quite a snowy winter.
@Marianne: this year it seems to be that way.
@Klara: we can count on snowfalls into April here. In recorded weather history here, we have had trace amounts of snow in every month but July, I believe.
@Grace: I love it.
@Red: we get a good amount.
It was hard slogging in it, wasn't it?!ReplyDelete
OMG! You make me very happy I live in Florida. It will be 77 F today and warmer tomorrow. :)ReplyDelete
not sure how you feel, but i must admit i am a bit jealous of this snow. i want some snow darn it. we had a bit of sleet and the darn stuff melted by 9:30 am ish ... it was just plain silly. so pretty. very mysterious looking. ( :ReplyDelete
I absolutely love this series of photos, William, and I love winter and snow, as you know! I keep staring at the snow and scenes in these photos! And I love the lights in them, too! Brilliant series, dear friend.ReplyDelete
I'm glad I can look at your photos and not have to worry about driving in that.ReplyDelete
I think you are in the right town for someone who likes winter! ;-)ReplyDelete
Those snow scenes bring back memories of my childhood in North Dakota. I am now very content to put up with the summer heat just to live in Arizona.ReplyDelete
@Jennifer: it can make for challenging walking!ReplyDelete
@Lowell: it is still below freezing here, but it's been sunny and clear all day.
@Beth: I love the snow. It does tend to stick around here.
@Sharon: it can be trouble for some cars- and buses. Articulated buses here can have problems in heavy snow.
@RedPat: I am!
@Catalyst: it's heat that gets to me. Give me the cold anytime.
March really starts summer here.....with an occational cold day. ...We don't have much of a Spring. Spring is a time that we have severe storms though!.ReplyDelete
That really looks like a heap of snow. You are cold and we are weathering a late burst of summer when it should be autumn.ReplyDelete
wow...that is what I call WINTER.ReplyDelete
Keep warm and enjoy the season.
Hopefully you will see sign of spring soon.
That's a lot of snow. I enjoy looking at it and even walking in it but I always hated to drive in it. I like your winter photos and glad you like the cold season and share your findings with everyone.ReplyDelete
Only a polar bear could appreciate that kind of cold.ReplyDelete
That does look a whole lot of snow!ReplyDelete
Hope you may get some Spring like weather soon.
All the best Jan
Beautiful sceneries! Cold, gray, snow, but beautiful. The lights look particularly warm in these photos :-)ReplyDelete
It is always fun to see the street scenes in your area. Thank you for these interesting photos.ReplyDelete
This puts our little bits of snow to shame. It certainly is a good thing you like winter because you've gotten a very good dose of it.ReplyDelete
You really had a lots of snow there. But fortunately, the snow has melted, or is it.ReplyDelete
@Janey: spring here can be quite brief.ReplyDelete
@Gemma: winters here are long ones.
@Gunn: thank you.
@Bill: I love the snow.
@Mari: I must be a polar bear.
@Jan: we are in between right now. It's a cold, clear day, but we've had some snow melt.
@Tamago: thank you!
@Denise: you're welcome.
@Kay: I do love it.
@Orvokki: we can expect at least some of the snowpack to stay in place into April. It likely will again this year.
@Norma: snow is a good thing!
