Snowy Day

I took these on a particularly wintery day in February, while Winterlude was going on, in streets around Old Ottawa South, the Glebe, and Centretown, including views of the Canal from the Bronson Bridge. The snow pack has gone down since then, as you've seen in shots from my St. Patrick's series, but it's been consistently cold in March thus far. And we got a bunch of it back thanks to that storm earlier this week.

  6. That's a nasty bunch of snow. we don't get that much all winter.

  7. @Tom: spring still seems elusive! It's below freezing today, but sunny.

    @Marleen: our city's annual snow removal budget went over its line some time ago, so we've had quite a snowy winter.

    @Marianne: this year it seems to be that way.

    @Klara: we can count on snowfalls into April here. In recorded weather history here, we have had trace amounts of snow in every month but July, I believe.

    @Cloudia: thanks!

    @Grace: I love it.

    @Red: we get a good amount.

  14. Those snow scenes bring back memories of my childhood in North Dakota. I am now very content to put up with the summer heat just to live in Arizona.

  15. @Jennifer: it can make for challenging walking!

    @Lowell: it is still below freezing here, but it's been sunny and clear all day.

    @Beth: I love the snow. It does tend to stick around here.

    @Linda: thanks!

    @Sharon: it can be trouble for some cars- and buses. Articulated buses here can have problems in heavy snow.

    @RedPat: I am!

    @Catalyst: it's heat that gets to me. Give me the cold anytime.
