Windsor

 We start today with Mercury and Argus, an 1836 painting by J.M.W. Turner.

At Fontainebleau, Sand And Oaks In The Sun is the title of this painting by Camile Corot, dating around 1840.

A wider view of this space.

I stepped into a side corridor and took another shot of Dancer.

Windsor Castle From The Great Park is the title of this 1846 painting by David Cox.

Here we have A Family Group, by James Hayllar, done in 1864.

And I finish today with The Little Water Carrier, by William Bell Scott, dating to 1863.

  6. In the family group I am amazed at the expanse of the woman's dress. You could hide the family cow under there!

  13. Turner was a very prolific painter. I've seen his paintings all over the world but especially in England.

  14. Wow, what a difference in size seeing the photo of the painting on the wall. Great photos.
    Now I understand why people tell me to paint larger.

    @Sharon: this is the only one I've personally seen.

    @Iris: it is well done.

    @Maywyn: some canvases are quite big, but a solo shot focusing on that canvas might not always make it obvious.

    @Joanne: it stands out well.

    @Jeanie: it's a good view.

    @Cloudia: thank you!
