Meet Oberon the snowy owl, pausing between sips of water.
He crossed around the pan of water and looked at his reflection.
And then back over at Luna.
Who looked back at him.
And then there was this- Juno the bald eagle. I have never seen one in the wild. I don't recall ever seeing one in captivity. So this was a first. An absolute beauty, and a bit hard to photograph.
She was talkative, and I got the shots I wanted. Thus ends my series from the Museum of Nature. I hope you've enjoyed it.
Yes, I did enjoy big - thank you. Sad it ends already.

ReplyDeleteYes it is.

ReplyDeleteI can see that.
DeleteThe Snowy Owl is beautiful but I also love the Eagle. Take care, have a happy day and a great new week!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThere is an inherent sadness in seeing these birds in captivity, but if they serve to benefit their species it’s all to the good. The recovery of the Bald Eagle in our area has been spectacular. They are verging on common!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see one soaring.
DeleteLove the eagle. You should come to the island in the late spring to see them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat.
DeleteVery impressive, that bald eagle.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.

Delete...I think that it's sad to see them caged.
ReplyDeleteI concur, but they seem to be treated well, and accustomed to people.
DeleteJuno observing the blooming romance between Luna and Oberon.
ReplyDeleteQuite a pair.
DeleteI saw an eagle in Florida one year that looked large enough to carry me away. They are so large.
ReplyDeleteThey do impress.
DeleteWe have both bald and golden eagles. I've been fortunate enough to get very close to them within 50 feet. Did I have a camera? Not so lucky.
ReplyDeleteAlas!
