Now Is The Winter Of Our Discontent

This shop on Elgin Street downtown has this display in the front window. For some inexplicable reason, some people don't like winter.

  5. That is so sweet! Inexplicable indeed. One day we'll probably all live in a parched desert and old people will remember that they disliked winter and wonder why... :-)

  6. Yep, it's all about attitude. I'll try to keep that in mind tonight and tomorrow as it snows . . . again.

    Gerald: it is!

    Ciel: that couldd be.

  10. Wonderful window display, William.
    It's never good ... for some people winter is too cold and too long, for other people winter can't be cold and long enough ...

  11. My brother in Toronto feels the same way now, and he likes the cold!

  12. There is a lot of truth in these tidbits of wisdom! Winter may be a lot of fun, as you've shown us in your photos of skaters on the river, but enough is enough. It doth appear that a lot of frustration comes through in these signs. Let spring be upon us!

  14. I just think that since Spring is just 4 days away that these little critters are says 'we are ready to move on'. You have shown us some wonderful winter scenes---specially for us on the west coast--we don't get winter as seen through your eyes. MB

  15. I think many people and critters have had it with THIS winter. At lest here in the States. Storms and more storms Just lining up, it is just too much. I just read about how ducks are being brought into clinics with injuries from not finding food because of all the ice and snow.

    cheers, parsnip

  16. @Jan: I'm firmly of the I love winter category.

    @Jane and Chris: I know, you're tired of winter.

    @Hilda: well, I haven't had enough...

    @Tex: thanks!

    @Lowell: there's quite a lot of frustration!

    @Country Gal: thank you!

    @RedPat: so do quite a few people!

    @MB: it doesn't feel like spring today!

    @Parsnip: we've had ourselves what feels like a normal winter.

  18. Funny! So cute and I agree; I am ready for spring. But snow is coming down here in Virginia so I will hibernate for a while.

  21. What a funny display! I don't like winter neither... Fortunately the Austrian winter has been abnormally mild...

  22. My kind of people! Of course, being in the desert, it is already spring here.

  23. Odd isn't it? :) Actually, while I long for spring, I really don't mind the snow when it's still fresh and beautiful.

  24. Perhaps these storeowners need another word, relocate. After all, it is still winter and they are located in Canada, right?

  25. Ha! That is so cute. I have to agree. After getting out for a nice walk on my trail last week, I'm not too happy that this week we have more snow again.
