"Santa Claus has the right idea: visit people only once a year." ~ Victor Borge
"The two most joyous times of the year are Christmas morning and the end of school." ~ Alice Cooper
"The main reason Santa is so jolly is he knows where all the bad girls live." ~ George Carlin
"The ideal Christmas wish would be for Justin Bieber to develop a crippling and permanent case of laryngitis. If we can't get that, I'll settle for reading the obituary of my idiot former brother-in-law." ~ William Kendall
I shall be cornering the world market on coal in my stocking as usual, but this Christmas Eve I've gone with two shots from Parliament Hill. I have not had the chance to photograph the lights up there this year, but they are beautiful.
I have my annual Christmas Eve post scheduled to publish at the same time as this one over at my writer's blog, a blend of twisted mayhem and nonsense that will pretty much cement that fate of coal in my stocking (as if writing Santa's eulogy a few days ago didn't already guarantee it). If you're not around through the holidays, Merry Christmas!
Wow, stunning!

Cloudia. :-)
ReplyDeleteCheerful photos. It never seems much like Christmas here at this time of the year, since Serbs celebrate according to the Orthodox calendar on Jan. 7th. On the other hand, there are New Year's lights up. Christmas here is without all the hype, which is refreshing. Best wishes to you, and I hope, not too much coal.
ReplyDeleteI like both ideas!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful illuminations!
ReplyDeleteHave a good Christmas to you and your family.
Very nice!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas William !.
ReplyDeleteTomás.

ReplyDeleteNich Christmas photos, a Merry Christmas to you William.

@Linda: they are.
ReplyDelete@Cloudia: was it that much of a humbug?
@Revrunner: what can I say, years of being civil to a bigoted jerk have resulted in my looking forward to sending a note to his funeral saying I approve of it.
@Pat: the difference in the calendars would seem a bit off to me.
@VP: thank you!
@Mariusz: thanks!
@Luis: thank you!
@Tomas: thanks!
@Ciel: I figured quotes would be a good start for it. I'll be a bit more serious tomorrow!
@Sharon: so do I.
@Marianne: thanks!
Merry Christmas, William!
ReplyDeleteThose quotes are great. I've heard Santa is going green this year, so instead of coal you should expect LEDs. No matter. Merry Christmas !
ReplyDeletethe quotes and your wit made me laugh. blessings, william! let us know where to send bail money! :)
ReplyDeleteI am laughing, too! And from your comment on one of my blogs, I take it you're not a fan of Christmas music! :) I figured you'd just hit the play button while you worked! Ho, ho, ho!

ReplyDeleteWhatever the color... it's a very magical time of year. Yes, I BELIEVE in that red-suited fat guy.
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm impressed with the last shot! Fortunately Harper has nothing to do with these decorations or we would have a big sign by them saying how wonderful he is. There, I get my lump of coal too.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you.
Wishing you a very merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSome of those quotes are quite hilarious.
ReplyDeleteAs for the photos, I specially love the second one with those huge ice crystals. I'm longing for some snow and ice, but with max. temperatures about 9 ºC we'll have to wait at least some days.
Merry Christmas for you and your family, William!
Lotsa color there.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you all and may the New Year bring Peace and Happiness.

@Judy: thanks!
@Birdman: the big man's busy today!
@Red: if he could get away with taking credit for the sun rising and setting, he would.
@EG: thank you!
