Need a video to hear the falls.
Beautiful series of images William, it really is a photogenic spot, the light is lovely.
What a very scenic area! It looks like one could spend a long time just sitting on the bank watching the falls.
@Tomas: they are!@Halcyon: they're a delight to watch.@Orvokki: I really have to come down here more often and photograph in different seasons.@Bill: yes, in spring the falls are quite different!@Marianne: I certainly think so.@Linda: that appears to be the consensus.@Beth: this one's quite different from the Rideau Falls downstream. And the activity here seems relatively moderate.@EG: yes, there are homes and apartments so close to the park, so I imagine some of the neighbours make a walk down here regularly.@Tex: thanks!
@Gnome: it really is.@Janey: I do too.@Lowell: I probably spent the better part of an hour here this time.@Sharon: it certainly is!@Norma: I've always liked this one.@Linda: I'll have to keep that in mind. The only time I've used the video feature on my camera, it didn't work out as I'd wanted.@Grace: thanks!@Luis: I agree.@Red: it's a spot that's popular, but never seems crowded.
An amazing place with so much beauty around...
You would think that you were out in the wilderness until you spot the tall buildings!

These are gorgeous shots and it's clearly a beautiful place. I wonder what kind of rock that is. I'm guessing it's not granite. Basalt??
Beautiful shots! Thanks for sharing this place.
Beautiful series, William, love the cascades !
What a 'wild' environment just by the city!
It's a pretty spot. We used to walk around there a lot when we lived off of Merivale and Hunt Club!
@SRQ: yes it is.@Kay: sedimentary of some sort, but this area is also a mix of sedimentary and Canadian Shield rock.@Linda: you're welcome.@Karl: thank you!@Luiz: very much so.@Jennifer: I love the area.
