A Walkabout Along The Ottawa River

The path along the Ottawa River winds below the ridge that Parliament Hill is part of, up slope from the river itself. It is popular for walkers and bikers.

Ahead we see the abrupt cliff face behind the Supreme Court.

There was work done in this area several years ago. Since then new trees have been planted here. It is essential to have trees along the ridge, which help stabilize the ridge as a whole.

The view coming around the cliff below the Court makes it all worth it. The work around Centre Block will be years before finishing. West Block lies at right.

Two shots taken a few metres apart to end the post for today. These are taken looking up the slope. The towers of West Block can be seen at the top.

  15. El río tiene un precioso color azul y los árboles están vestidos colores de otoño, que tan vistosos resultan.

  16. Plants are good to plant along ridges and cliffs, they usually use native plants and trees here because they tend to tolerate any soil and weather type.
