Turning away from Rideau Hall as seen in my last post, I took this shot looking down the driveway.
Another shot looked west.
To the east is a lower lying area, with a secondary driveway leading to areas that are off limits to the public.
I headed towards the main gate.
A look back at Rideau Hall.
And more of the colours.
Coming up near the gate, we find an inuksuk erected here. These are a common sight in the Arctic, where Inuit peoples have used them for centuries as markers.
One last look, with golden sunlight streaming among the trees. Thus brings to an end my formal series on fall colours, though in fact you'll also see some tomorrow kicking off my next series.
Nice and quiet. Beautiful trees. Interesting marker sculpture. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteFew sights more delightful than a carpet of fall leaves.
ReplyDeleteQuite a finale!
ReplyDelete...all good must come to an end. I have a couple of inuksuks here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty finale, beautiful colors and trees.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I always love the trees that turn red. Nice shots.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that inukshuk has to be repaired from time to time. Ours does, but it's an ad hoc amateur job.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful spot. I have been waiting for years for my call to go and live there, but it hasn't happened yet!
ReplyDeleteIt´s a slow(er) good bye. The tree I can look at from here is almost naked already.
ReplyDeleteYou can see that the leaves are starting to thin.
ReplyDelete@Nancy: it is a pretty place.
ReplyDelete@Revrunner: quite true.
@Italiafinlandia: thanks.
@Tom: they're good to have.

ReplyDelete@Anvilcloud: possibly.
@David: I'd lack the graciousness for the job.
@Iris: most are done.
@Sharon: definitely.
Loved the 1st long shot the best!
ReplyDeleteThere is something about sunlight splashing between those fabulous trees that just makes me smile. I'll miss that over the next few months!
ReplyDeleteIt won't be long before the trees are naked and bare again.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a fine series, William.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos William! I have enjoyed your Autumnal view of this beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful final and photos, William.
