Back in 2019, a European style Christmas market was begun at Lansdowne Park. This is in addition to the Christmas farmers market, held inside the Aberdeen Pavilion, which has been going on for years. After being canceled last year because of Covid, the outdoor market returned this year. Today marks the last day for the season, so if you're in the area, check it out.
These first two shots are of the Aberdeen Pavilion, with the big Christmas tree out front, taken as I approached one evening.
There are multiple cabins used in the square adjacent to the Pavilion. Some feature food vendors, and others artisans. A stage is set up here, along with the frequent presence of a jolly red clad elf.
These dogs caught my eye.
I came back on another night when snow was falling.
A group of Santas were around, bar hopping.
The market was busy. We'll have more from here tomorrow.
All the Santas!
ReplyDeleteIn Hamburg we went to the Alster with our Grandma. So many Santas performing with great music. She suffered of Alzheimer´s desease but was so happy it made me nearly cry!
Thank you for the memory!
Cute pups.
ReplyDeleteLooks a really interesting market reminds me of England. Nothing so enchanting here.
Christmas in Finnish: Joulu.
ReplyDeleteThe bar hopping santas sounds like a fun bunch of people.
ReplyDeleteHere, we don't have Christmas market or anything like it. I would enjoy visiting Christmas market too. Sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteMany towns and cities here have Christmas markets, it is a lovely tradition, and also safer currently being out-of-doors.

ReplyDeleteHappy that your weather send you some snow !

Buena idea de ese mercado de agricultores. Así sus productos se pueden vender directamente al consumidor, sin necesidad de intermediarios,
ReplyDeleteThe lights are beautiful -- your pictuires are so good -- they are hard to capture on film but you do it beautifully.
