This wreath hangs outside the Chateau Laurier hotel.
Inside, it has been a tradition for many years to have decorated trees in the lobbies and corridors. Companies pay for trees to be decorated, with proceeds going to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Visitors can come and see them. Last year I believe it was still done, but the areas were only open to hotel guests due to Covid restrictions.
A glance here includes a bust of Wilfred Laurier in the background. The hotel was named in his honour when it opened in 1912.
This space off the main lobby leading to a restaurant beyond includes several black and white portraits hanging on the walls. They are from the works of the esteemed portrait photographer Yousuf Karsh, who had his studios in the Chateau for the second half of his career.
Back out into the main lobby.
And beyond into one of the corridors. I have more from here over the next two days.
Rich decorations.

...what a lovely place, I remember our visit there.
ReplyDeleteOur small vintage hotel has a tree contest between the local non-profits (I think, maybe businesses can also contribute) where votes are cast by actual cash donations into boxes below the trees.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fine tradition.
ReplyDeleteNo half way at the Chateau!
ReplyDeleteLots of glitter and glitz.
ReplyDeleteHere everybody does decorate his tree like he wants. I personally like it simple with balls and lights ant that I still can see the green of the fir.
